Modular MathDesk

A math-centric workspace for modern calculation.

Faster calculation, easier review.

Modular MathDesk helps engineering, science, and math-focused teams move from blank page to structured calculation faster by making reusable math, team module collaboration with version history, and assistant review* part of the same workflow.

Calculation documents that stay readable

Build engineering and scientific calculations in a rendered document that keeps equations, assumptions, units, diagrams, and explanatory text together. The workflow is designed for speed without losing the structure reviewers need later.

Solve from the math you already wrote

Define a relationship, enter known values with units, and ask MathDesk to solve for a supported unknown. The app presents the rearranged expression and result for your review.

^Equation solving currently supports one unknown at a time. Parallel equations and systems of equations are not yet supported, but are on the roadmap.

Reusable modules, available when the project needs them

Keep equations and modules in shared repositories so technical teams can search, compare, insert, and reuse calculation logic without rebuilding it from scratch. Teams can flag issues, upvote useful work, fork improvements, and leave a clearer audit trail around the assumptions behind each calculation.

Reusable methods inside live documents

Insert reusable modules directly into working calculations so calculation logic and project-specific inputs live in the same document. This speeds up repeated work while helping reviewers focus on the assumptions and changes that matter.

An assistant alongside your work.

Use handpicked AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google or select your favourite from 100s of others via a BYO OpenRouter key. Use the assistant to inspect steps, discuss assumptions, and suggest document improvements. Its responses are suggestions and require independent review.

*Cost, speed, and accuracy may vary based on the difficulty of the problem. AI can make mistakes; all outputs must be checked and verified by the user.

Multiple step-function improvements

Keep calculations legible from the beginning and make reusable methods easier to find, without digging through old template files and folders.

Reuse calculation modules

Pull shared math from the repository instead of rebuilding it every time.

Work together with the assistant

Use a BYO OpenRouter key to speed up input, formatting, and review. Deeply integrated—no copying and pasting from a second window.

Math-centric calculations that work the way you think

Not a spreadsheet. Not a word processor. A purpose-built workspace for readable, traceable engineering, science, and mathematics calculations, designed for speed.

Live Math Evaluation

Write expressions in natural math notation and evaluate them as you work, using a symbolic math engine with dimensional analysis.

Calculations with units

Work with a wide array of physical units—including mm, kN, and MPa—throughout supported calculations, with dimensional checks that help surface incompatible units.

Modular Documents

Create reusable calculation modules. Insert a shared method into a project and connect it with the document's variables.

Change an input, update the calculation

Modify an input value and connected results update in real time, reducing the need to manually update formulas throughout the document.

Formatted PDF output

Export PDF reports containing headings, formulas, results, and commentary, ready for your own review and project-specific checking before sharing.

Custom Variables & Units

Define project-level variables, presets, and even custom unit systems. Tailor the environment to your technical workflow.
